  • Colon Powell is yesterdays news. He is around 70 and has been hung out to dry by both parties. He is worth almost a 100 million. He probably doesn't need to be involved in government anymore except to collect his two pensions. The only reason that he would even consider supporting Barack Obama is because Obama is black. It would be a race decision. Other than that, Powell is a hard core conservative.
  • Yes, great point -- you obviously wouldn't support someone "around 70" for an important political office, would you?? Or someone worth a lot of money??
  • Its strange that any democrat would even ask for a Powell endorsement. Remember his son Michael? The apple didn't fall far from the tree.
  • Nice attempt to dodge the point.

    FAIL.
  • Yes, as AZ points out, I'll take this completely unrelated comment as your concession that your first point on this thread made no sense - or alternatively, by your logic, supporting McCain makes no sense. Thanks!
  • You can tell by TWP's comments how scared he is. Talk about whistling past the graveyard!
  • I don't scare. I have nothing to fear. It doesn't mean anything to me at all. You are the only saps that are being taken advantage of. Look at yourself and how hateful you are? Is it worth it? Look at all the name calling that you Obama supporters do? Don't you know it is going to come right back at you big time.
  • Notice:

Using the term "saps" to describe people you don't even know is no longer considered "namecalling".

    Thank you,
The Orwellian Board of New Semantics
  • You have a lot to fear, ass wipe! You're a bigot who's going to have a black man as president. That's some scrary shit for an inbred SOB like you, isn't it?
  • You gutter mouth cock sucker can go fuck yourself. I have seen deviant minded militants in my, life but you take the cake. I certainly can't believe that anyone in the Obama campaign would have anything to do with you. Have to wonder why you are blogging for them. As a matter of fact, I might ask them. You probably need a visit from HLS. You are definitely a threat.
  • But, but, but . . I thought you said Obama was an American hating racist and all of his supporters were disgusting people. So why are you surprised?

Run along and finish banging that sheep until your sister returns to the traier from her job at the wash and wax!
  • TWP is a pussy . . . TWP is a pussy . . . When you can't get any, you become one!
  • Here is a name call for you...you are a Douchebag and an idiot.
  • I think it is you who is scared of me. ;-)
  • Colin Powell's comment from April 9th comes to mind...

ABC News's Dianne Sawyer asked Powell what he made of "relative lack of experience" at the national level, when it comes to envisioning the political phenom as president.

"He doesn't have experience at the senior levels of national government. But I've seen other individuals come along who didn't have that breadth of experience and what they do is surround themselves with people who do bring that experience.

"With Sen. Obama, he didn't have a lot of experience running a presidential campaign, did he? But he seems to know how to organize a task and he seems to know how to apply resources to a problem at hand. So that gives me some indication that (with) his inexperience in foreign affairs or domestic affairs, he may be someone who can learn quickly."

Whose campaign seems better managed, Obama's or McCain's. That is a preview of their skills in managing a massive bureaucracy.
  • Seems to me that Powell should be on the short list for VP. That would beef up the foreign policy and national security aspect of the team, bring across moderates and Republicans who are disgusted with Bush. Powell's missteps as SOS can be attributed to loyalty, typical of a career military man. And it would send the message that this will be a different administration, much more than pairing up with a 'safe' white, male VP.
  • Yeah, right. People are really going to say, "YOU KNOW WHAT, Powell backs Obama. Apparently Obama has a lot of foreign policy experience now."

    YEAH...RIGHT.

People don't think that way. They are going to say, Powell's backing Obama because he's BLACK. Anyone who refuses to admit that is a bold-faced liar.
  • You must be backing McCain because he's white, then.
  • He's actually kinda pasty grey. But then maybe framecop is too.
  • I'm neither
  • I'm not backing McCain, IDIOT, and what makes you think I'm "white"? You know there are a lot of other things I could be, don't you?
  • Belligerent?
  • Very impatient with people who show little intuition.

Just because I understand how people would generally respond to Colin Powell endorsing Obama that somehow means that I must be "white" and "supporting McCain"?

What kind of illogical stupidity is that?

Apparently people can't understand the difference between UNDERSTANDING and supporting.

If you UNDERSTAND what drives people to terrorism, does that mean you SUPPORT the terrorism?

If you UNDERSTAND what causes people to steal, does that mean that you SUPPORT the stealing?

Just because you UNDERSTAND that people would think that Colin Powell endorsed Obama because he's black, means that you must either SUPPORT McCain or be white?

    Illogical.
  • there was only one word in all caps in there, i'm disappointed.
  • yes, we ALL ENJOY FRAMECOP'S sophisticated USE OF CAPITAL LETTERS IN HIS POSTS.
  • Why would anybody be interested in Colin Powell's opinion? He's a documented liar with very poor judgement and no politicial courage whatsoever.

He didn't have the guts to stand up to the Bush thugs, he knowingly lied for them, and only after he resigned did he indulge in a spot of mild tut-tuttery about his former co-conspirators. A man who must have known that "I was just following orders" is not a valid defence used just that defence. He is contemptible.
  • I actually agree with you. I was soooo disappointed in his UN speech. Obvious lies with pressed wood toy planes to attack USA, 5th grade drawings of "mobile labs" when we have the most sophisticated spy satlellites on earth, aluminium tubes that where discounted by experts knowledgeable about nuclear reactors and on and on. made my stomach cringe with saddness and how such a good man could just...i wish he had just quit.
