I just heard on Fox news (this Saturday morning) a Republican Palin spokeswoman issue the report that the panel had determined Palin had in fact abused her office powers in the Trooper-gate scandal BUT she said "it was determined that it was OBAMA supporters who had pushed for this hearing"!!! The majority of the panel was Republican so it does not matter who pushed forthe hearing, it was her own party that came to that guilty conclusion!

Pitbull Palin's shananigans will not affect *the base* but it will sway the independents/undecided voter...towards Obama!
What was McCain thinking? They underestimated our intelligence. They thought all this dirt on Palin whould never surface and they could sweep it under the rug without us ever knowing or questioning it. It's been nothing but controversy and dysfunction since Palin was introduced.

we dont know how accurate the ARG poll was because there just haven't been enough polls out of WV. no one thought it would be competitive. but in this economic time, people will forget skin color and vote straight dem. just like in 2002 when people were scared after 9/11 and voted republican, people are scared now and obama has run a brilliant campaign to capture that.

WV is one of those states where at the local and state level dems clean house, but when it comes to the presidency they vote republican. but dont forget those dems came home to vote for both Dukakis and Clinton, so its not out of the realm they will vote for Obama.

right on - the people at those cross burnings, i mean "rallies" won't change their vote based on palin being found guilty of abusing power - i don't think many of the people who attend these things look at abuse in any form as a bad thing

Southeast OH is suffering from DHL pulling out of Wilmington in near future. They have already announced closing the old Airborne Express air hub they took over when they bought AirborneExpress. It is ripe for the taking.

The report notes a few instances in which Palin pressed the case against trooper Mike Wooten, but it was her husband, Todd, who led the charge. Todd Palin had extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers and he used that access to try to get Wooten fired.
She allowed her husband access to the Governor's office. Just think what would happen if Palin is VP and allow the "Dude" access to the VP's office.

This is scary and I think the democrats need to make this a BIG issue since they are throwing mud at Obama.

I wonder if those people know what it means to be qualified to be president? What do they answer. Age, experience (in what). Can they name any other unqualified Presidents that actually served? Bottom line is that if you get the votes , then you are qualified.

It's pretty funny that we've spent decades deregulating the finance industry only to nationalize it now! Reganomics and his structural policy truly died these past two weeks. Anyone still believing they work long term is a blind fool. Regulated markets lasted for nearly a century only to collapse after a couple of deregulated decades. I'll be the 1st to admit I thought deregulation was great. Profits increased, but I guess that meant risk also increased. BOOM! reality. Enter the PPT (plunge protection team)

Personally after these past couple of weeks I don't know what a republican is anymore. I think the only republicans stand for is the anti-democrat. Which is exactly how McCain is running his campaign. THere is no such thing as a republican when republicans start nationalizing banks and other financial insitutions.

FactCheck.org has always been unbiased. Just because Karl Rove tells you they have an agenda doesn't mean that they do. As for Obama's statement, go back to English and learn a little about sentence structure and the meaning of words. And please tell me what "lie" Joe Biden told about Hezbollah/Lebanon.

You just keep repeating the right-wing talking point that the facts and fact checkers are "biased" against your candidates. It does so much to help them, doesn't it?

I'd like to have the "Bill Clinton economy" too, but if you understand economics, and the scale of the US ecomomy, you will understand how much of that was possible due to the Reagan ecomony (which greatly expanded the economy, hence greatly increased tax revenues).

Um...right. Voodoo economics and deficit spending made Clinton's success possible. Why is it that no Republican can admit that their economic policies are bad for the nation?

Obama hasn't accomplished anything significant in his time in the US Senate. And I think you need to dig a bit deeper on the "voting against his party" thing. A total of 46 votes against his party over more than 2 and a half years is a 96% ratio of voting WITH the Dems.

Well, you seem to have the Republican talking points down. And voting against Bush's policies 96% of the time is a GOOD thing. McCain, however, has voted against his own bills that he worked across the aisle to create. That doesn't sound like a leader to me. It sounds a little erratic.

I live in Oakland, MD, not too far from the WV border and i can tell you that of all the West Virginians that I know personally, they are split on who to vote for but all agree on one thing: Sarah Palin is unqualified to be President if something should happen to McCain if elected. As for her touring WV. HA, they don't even want her there. At least of those that I know anyway.
